our very own tea ceremony

I got a few belated wedding gifts from friends this past month, and I thought I'd share since they are such wonderful gifts....First up this delicious tea set and of course, awesome tea.  I've always wanted a blossom tea set!  And those cute round cups with the flowers are insulated, so it doesn't get hot to the touch at all.  Form and function; it's a beautiful thing.

So I got this in-house freelance gig starting today @ Claire's.  (yeah work!) OH the fun of being surrounded with tween girl merchandise.  That said, since my body is not used to this 9-5 grind, I may be slow with the updating.  On top of missing out on stuff like this at home..boo...

Some round things..

I bought a cactus for my husband yesterday, and decided to look around the house for some round things to take pictures of. From the top left - the Turbo Scratcher, an incense stand cover, a yellow vase, my lunch, mini orange clock, and the cactus.

Me got nails!

I got my nails done for the first time, and I gotta say, I could get used to this. Though the salon that I had reserved a manicure with actually LOST my appointment. HOW?! I ended up at the mall at a small little walk-in nail salon (with smell and all). I got to watch either Nascar or Saved by the Bell with really bad reception. Quite daunting for a first experience, but a fruitful one nonetheless. But who can complain when you've got Zach and A.C. Slater? French manicures are cute!

Other than hanging with my sister and brother-in-law, I took some awfully cute pictures of my kitties I'd like to share. My oldie tabby is officially butt-buddies with Shiro! yeah!

A new pair of shoes

I never realized how difficult it is to match a pair of shoes to a dress. But I feel like all the effort was worthwhile. Here is my first pair of fancy shoes I bought over the weekend. They will be matching a champagne gold knee-length evening dress.
I've been trying them on and walking around the house to get used to the approximately 3 inches of heels. The blisters on my foot tell tales of my effort. y'ouch.
